A letter from the author
Hello from Dr Hector Perera,
May I introduce my book, CHEMISTRY GCSE Book For Year
2009 Key Stage 4 Exams.
It has the Model Questions and Answers most likely to come up in the GCSE 2008
examinations .
The aim of the book is to maximize the pupil's achievement, raise
their standard and inspire the confident passing of GCSE Chemistry. The book
will strengthen the student's knowledge. The book explores a rich variety of
possible GCSE Chemistry topics. No other book is required, providing the
opportunity to attain the top grades in GCSE Chemistry. This is a high quality,
cost effective book. A2/AS work cooking & energy
The model questions and answers are
designed to obtain excellent GCSE Chemistry results. The answers are
supplemented with notes to improve understanding. So when similar questions
come up in the exams, the students can confidently provide the right answers.
Some students do not answer the questions fully hence they are unlikely to get the
expected grades. In exams the examiners are not satisfied with incomplete
answers. I have shown step-by-step calculations of how a final answer is
obtained; this enables the students to understand the methods of calculation.
I am an experienced teacher with PhD.MSc.BSc (Hons) Chemistry
[London] with many years of teaching experience. I have classroom tested for
years with this type of model questions and answers in actual GCSE classes and
I am delighted to say it produced excellent results. This book gives the exam
techniques, what to write how to write, with examples and supplemental notes.
Model Questions and Answers are
included from many areas of the GCSE syllabus, explained in the simplest ways
without losing the actual structure of chemistry. The answers are supplemented
with additional notes, wherever possible to help the most needy students. Hence
the book can be used as a self-study guide and also as a revision 'Questions
and Answers' book. The students should study the contents over and over again
because these are the sorts of questions likely to come up in exams and these
are the answers needed. Most of the students are unaware of how much to write,
what to write and this problem of presentation has been tackled in this book.
In calculation questions, I have
given step-by-step details to explain the answers and this helps the students
to answer similar questions.
These GCSE Model Questions and
Answers are suitable for all Year 2008 GCSE Exams for Double and Single Science
students and for GCSE separate Science students.
In calculation questions, step-by-step explanations are given
without missing any important steps. This is an essential book for all GCSE
student’s revision whatever their level.
